Texel documentation

Work inside Excel.
Stay in control.

Texel is a financial modelling agent that grounds every request in the open workbook and shows its proposed work before it writes.

Core rule

Your active selection is evidence of intent—not automatic permission to overwrite cells.

From account to first calculation

01

Install the add-in

Download the Texel manifest and add it through Excel’s Add-ins menu. Company pilots can deploy it centrally through Microsoft 365.

02

Connect your account

Open Texel inside Excel and sign in. The pane receives a short-lived session; model credentials are never sent to the workbook.

03

Ask for a calculation

Describe the output you need. Texel maps the workbook, identifies candidate evidence, and asks only when a material ambiguity remains.

04

Review before writing

Inspect sources, formula previews, destination cells and warnings. Excel changes only after explicit approval.

Formula Explorer

Select a formula cell and open ƒx from the Texel pane. The explorer follows your selection and shows the formula’s inputs, downstream uses and validation checks without changing the workbook.

How credits work

Credits are charged only for completed model-backed work. Deterministic inspection, blocked requests and failed service calls do not consume credits. Each charge is recorded against a user, workspace and request.

Workbook privacy

Workbook data is processed for the active request and is not retained by default. Usage records store operational metadata and workbook fingerprints—not the workbook itself.
